The Catholic Schools Office (CSO) provides a range of services to support approximately 2,500 staff in 45 vibrant and dynamic Catholic school communities that serve more than 18,000 students. The CSO assists schools to build teaching and leadership capabilities in communities of professional educators who share responsibility for school improvement and for achieving the best outcomes for our students.

Lead, School Improvement and Performance
This position can be located in Lismore, Coffs Harbour or Port Macquarie commencing 24 April 2023
For external applicants this position is offered as a 5-year renewable contract
For internal staff this position can be offered as either a full time 2-year secondment or a 5-year renewable contract

Work Requirements:
- hold a valid clearance to work with Children (Working with Children Check)
- a current/valid Australian Driver’s License and eligibility to work within Australia for the period of the appointment
- requirement to travel between locations.
Qualifications:
- Tertiary qualifications in Education and post-graduate degree in Religious Education, Theology or Educational Leadership.
Work Experience:
- At least five years’ experience as a Principal or Assistant Principal, with demonstrated capability to lift school performance and engage at a system level.
Key Capabilities:
- Practising Catholic who witnesses to Catholic beliefs and practices.
- Sound knowledge and understanding of Catholic education in Australia and demonstrated capacity to implement the Mission of the Church for Catholic Education.
- Demonstrated ability to support school communities to be formed in the Mission of Jesus Christ.
- Proven experience working effectively as a team member and promoting a collaborative culture.
- Highly developed communication skills with the ability to develop, deliver and evaluate professional learning for small and large groups.
- Ability to gather, interpret and analyse, and coach others to analyse, system and school based data to drive decisions for improvement.
- Highly developed coaching and relational skills with the ability to develop consulting relationships to manage change.
- A sound knowledge of the legislative environment, industry standards, compliance requirements relevant to the non-government education sector.
- Working knowledge of WHS and equity with a demonstrated capacity to apply related principles and policies.
