Manager, Finance Applications

Location: Lismore NSW

Full-time permanent position. Start date to be negotiated with the successful candidate.

Position Purpose:

The Manager, Finance Applications is responsible for the effective management, optimisation and continuous improvement of the Diocese’s financial systems, primarily TechnologyOne. The role ensures financial processes, controls and reporting are supported by well-designed, fit-for-purpose system solutions.

Working closely with Finance, IT, Procurement and other stakeholders, the role leads the design and implementation of system changes, supports major initiatives, and drives better use of TechnologyOne across the Diocese. This includes improving system capability, reducing manual processes and ensuring the system supports accurate reporting, compliance and decision-making.

As Manager, Finance Applications this role supports the underlying Mission of Catholic Education in the Diocese of Lismore by delivering services that contribute to enabling students to achieve the fullness of life

Work Requirements:

  • A current/valid Australian Driver’s Licence and eligibility to work within Australia for the period of the appointment.
  • Compliance with Accreditation to Work Teach and Lead as prescribed by the Bishops of NSW, or working towards accreditation at the appropriate level upon commencement.
  • A valid/paid NSW Working with Children Check and a cleared National Police Check, or the ability to obtain if the successful candidate.  
  • Requirement to travel between locations (as required). 

Qualifications:

  • Relevant qualifications in accounting, information technology or a related field, or significant demonstrated experience in financial systems (TechnologyOne preferred).

Work Experience and Key Capabilities: 

  • Significant demonstrated experience in the use, configuration and support of TechnologyOne financial systems.
  • Strong understanding of financial processes and controls, and how these are applied and managed within a system environment.
  • Proven experience delivering system improvements, enhancements and implementations, ideally within TechnologyOne.
  • Demonstrated ability to work closely with stakeholders to design and improve system-based processes and solutions.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate business needs into practical system outcomes.
  • Experience providing user support, guidance and training, and improving system capability across an organisation.
  • Demonstrated ability to take ownership of a system and operate in a lead role, with accountability for performance and outcomes.

Plus, the following generic capabilities: 

  • Demonstrated ability to support school communities to be formed in the Mission of Jesus Christ.
  • Working knowledge of WHS and equity with a demonstrated capacity to apply related principles and policies.
