St Joseph's Primary School, Laurieton 

Applications are invited from suitably qualified persons for the following position:

Canteen Supervisor includes Uniform Shop 

24 hours a fortnight across 3 days, Monday, Tuesday and Friday

         Applicants must: 

  • Hold a valid NSW Working with Children Check
  • Have a knowledge of and commitment to the Catholic ethos and mission of the school
  • Comply with the Accreditation to Work Teach and Lead Policy upon appointment.
  • Food Safety Supervisor Certificate (or willingness to obtain).
  • Uphold high standards of cleanliness and ensure equipment maintenance is reported and logged.
  • Implement and monitor Work Health and Safety (WHS) protocols to ensure a safe environment for staff and customers

    Applicants must be able to demonstrate the following criteria:
  • Ability to identify the Mission of a Catholic School and demonstrate Christian values in dealing with children, parents, teachers and the general public
  • Ability to work in a team environment and with school volunteers in both the canteen and the uniform shop

         General duties

  • Coordinate the daily opening and closing procedures of the canteen.
  • Manage end-to-end stock control: ordering from approved suppliers, checking deliveries, and conducting term-based stocktakes.
  • Develop and market seasonal, nutritious menus that comply with healthy food guidelines (e.g., the "Green, Amber, Red" system).
  • Develop weekly rosters and ensure adequate coverage during peak service times.
  • Oversee daily cash handling, point-of-sale (POS) systems, and end-of-day reconciliations.
  • Liaise with the finance team to ensure all invoices are coded correctly and budgets are adhered to.
