Newman Senior Technical College is one of the largest senior secondary Colleges on the NSW North Coast with one of the highest VET course enrolments in NSW. The College is a specialist facility providing students with opportunities to achieve their HSC and national qualifications.

Leader of Pastoral Care + teaching load
The person appointed will have a permanent teaching position in the school and will involve a teaching load.
Co2 point “Leaders of” positions are offered a contract within a set 3-year cycle as co-ordinator. The current 3 year cycle is 2025 - 2027
All co-ordinator positions are advertised every 3 years within the school and incumbents are eligible for reappointment.

- have a current NSW Working with Children Check
- full accreditation with NSW Educational Standards Authority (NESA)
- compliance with the Accreditation to Work Teach and Lead Policy upon appointment
Teacher Accreditation:
Teachers who are appointed to a leadership position, whether new to the position or applying to be re-appointed, should have begun, or will begin to make a commitment to the requirements of the diocese Accreditation to Work Teach and Lead document, Category C (Category E for positions of Catechesis and School Evangelisation), during this next triennium cycle.
To be eligible to apply for a (Co2) position a teacher would normally be a fulltime permanent teacher classified Step 2 Proficient on the Teachers Standards Classification.
Each teacher in a leadership position (Co2) will participate in an ongoing performance review in accordance with the Diocesan Policy & Procedures for Performance Review of Coordinators.

- Experience and willingness to authentically lead Catholic Mission
- Capacity and skills to lead others to enable success for all students
- Ability to lead learning and change for improved student outcomes
- Provide evidence of qualifications in a specialised faculty
- Be able to work as a member of a committed team of professional teachers, dedicated to providing quality teaching and learning in partnership with the parent community
- Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and the capacity to lead and develop teamwork and individuals within a team
- Demonstrate the ability to lead staff within the school or professional learning team that is informed by feedback, analysis of current research and practice to improve well-being and educational outcomes for students
- Be able to lead colleagues to evaluate and develop pastoral care and well-being programs based on current research and data
- Support and lead the College 3 Year School Improvement Plan and the School Annual Improvement Plan
