Three (3) leadership positions available within the Diocese of Lismore.

Full-time positions, 5-year renewable contracts.

Commencing between May - July 2025, or in negotiation with successful candidates.

Relocation assistance available. Work motor vehicle and fuel card provided.

Position Purpose:

The Regional Assistant Director (RAD) has delegated responsibility to oversee and monitor the operational and educational performance of the region’s schools through strong Catholic educational leadership and commitment to student outcomes aligned to the Mission.

As the Catholic schools of the Diocese should be authentically embedded in the local Parish Community, it is essential that the RAD has open and regular communication with the Clergy, a collaborative leadership style when working with Principals and Clergy, and can coordinate the local educational endeavours, in line with system strategy, as required.

This position has a particular focus on regional planning, Principal and school leadership support, service coordination, Parish liaison and promoting cohesive relationships across the system of schools. As part of the DLCSL leadership team, this role supports the underlying Catholic Education Mission by providing support to improve overall system performance.

Work Requirements:

  • A current/valid Australian Driver’s Licence and eligibility to work within Australia for the period of the appointment.
  • Hold a valid NSW Working with Children Check. 
  • A National Police Check.
  • Requirement to travel between locations. 

Qualifications:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Education and a postgraduate degree in Religious Education, Theology, Educational Leadership or Business.

Work Experience: 

  • Experience as a Principal is highly desirable, with demonstrated capability to lift school performance and engage at a system level.

Key Capabilities:

  • Practising Catholic who witnesses to Catholic beliefs and practices.
  • Sound knowledge and understanding of Catholic education in Australia and demonstrated capacity to implement the Mission of the Church for Catholic Education.
  • Demonstrated ability to support school communities to be formed in the Mission of Jesus Christ.
  • Proven experience in working collaboratively with a parish priest at the leadership level.
  • Sound knowledge of the legislative environment, industry standards, compliance requirements relevant to the non-government education sector.
  • Demonstrated experience in implementing organisation-wide change and establishing a consistent service delivery model.
  • Active client focus and service orientation; ability to align and integrate services provided for strategic and operational effectiveness.
  • Enabler of change, being able to work with multiple stakeholders and competing priorities.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to motivate, influence and gain commitment.
