Project Manager, Property

This position can be located at: Coffs Harbour or Port Macquarie

Full-time, permanent position. Start date to be negotiated with the successful candidate.

Position Purpose:

The Project Manager leads the delivery and coordination of building and construction projects and assists in the development, implementation and evaluation of complex projects to achieve outcomes and support organisational objectives. You will be assisting the Diocese with:

  • Project Planning - major works;
  • Building and construction site coordination and supervision;
  • Acting as a conduit to ensure effective communication between the Property Services Team, Schools, project consultants, contractors and vendors, etc.;
  • Business partnering to achieve project outcomes; and
  • Meeting reporting requirements.

Work Requirements:

  • A current/valid Australian Driver’s Licence and eligibility to work within Australia for the period of the appointment;
  • Hold a valid NSW Working with Children Check, or ability to obtain if the successful candidate; 
  • Requirement to travel between locations. 

Qualifications:

  • Degree in project management, architecture, urban design, or a related field; or
  • Certificate IV in building and construction combined with relevant project management experience. 

Work Experience: 

  • At least three years' experience coordinating major projects and managing project budgets;
  • Experience working in the education sector would be an advantage;
  • Experience managing multiple construction projects.

Key Capabilities:

  • Current working knowledge of legislation, regulations, codes and standards;
  • Experience with Microsoft project software;
  • Ability to develop, deliver and evaluate processes and programs;
  • Highly developed skills in oral, written and interpersonal communication;
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritise competing deadlines;
  • Ability to work effectively as a team member and promote a collaborative culture while operating with a high level of autonomy as a subject matter expert.

  • Knowledge of WHS and equity principles in the workplace;
  • Respect and uphold the ethos and teachings of the Catholic Church and the values of the Employer.
