St Joseph's Primary School, Port Macquarie

The Leader of Learning position is offered as a temporary contract. The successful applicant will be offered a full time permanent position teaching at the school.

Co2 Leader of Pedagogy + Teaching load

The person appointed will have a permanent teaching position in the school and will involve a teaching load.
 Co2 point “Leaders of” positions are offered a contract within a set 3-year cycle as co-ordinator. The current 3 year cycle is 2025 - 2027
All co-ordinator positions are advertised every 3 years within the school and incumbents are eligible for reappointment.

Applicants must: 

  • have a current NSW Working with Children Check
  • full accreditation with NSW Educational Standards Authority (NESA)
  • compliance with the Accreditation to Work Teach and Lead Policy upon appointment 

Teacher Accreditation: 

Teachers who are appointed to a leadership position, whether new to the position or applying to be re-appointed, should have begun, or will begin to make a commitment to the requirements of the diocese Accreditation to Work Teach and Lead document, Category C (Category E for positions of Catechesis and School Evangelisation), during this next triennium cycle.

To be eligible to apply for a (Co2) position a teacher would normally be a fulltime permanent teacher classified Step 2 Proficient on the Teachers Standards Classification.

Each teacher in a leadership position (Co2) will participate in an ongoing performance review in accordance with the Diocesan Policy & Procedures for Performance Review of Coordinators.

Successful applicants in this position would need to meet the following criteria:

  • Experience and willingness to authentically lead Catholic Mission
  • Willingness to lead positively and build the capacity of teachers through a culture of coaching and mentorship
  • Demonstrated capacity to develop one’s self as a leader
  • Capacity and skills to lead others to enable success for all students
  • Ability to lead learning for improved teacher practice aligned to the Science of Learning (SOL)
  • Capacity to lead inclusive and responsive practices
  • Ability to manage effectively

Parish Priest Reference Form is required for applicants who are shortlisted in the roles of Religious Education or School Evangelisation positions for positions over 12 months.
