Newman Senior Technical College is one of the largest senior secondary Colleges on the NSW North Coast with one of the highest VET course enrolments in NSW.  The College is a specialist facility providing students with opportunities to achieve their HSC and national qualifications.

We invite suitably qualified teachers to apply for the following position:

Teacher - Marine Studies

Temporary, full time position for the 2025 school year

Applicants must: 

  • hold a valid NSW Working with Children Check
  • have full accreditation with NSW Educational Standards Authority (NESA)
  • NSW Boat Drivers Licence (held for a minimum of 3 years)
  • comply with the Accreditation to Work Teach and Lead Policy upon appointment

Criteria: 

  • have a knowledge of and commitment to the Catholic ethos and mission of the school
  • provide evidence of qualifications in a specialised faculty, including Snorkeling Instructor's qualification, Paddling/Kayaking Instructor's qualification and Advanced Resuscitation (Oxygen) Certificate
  • able to work as a member of a committed team of professional teachers, dedicated to providing quality teaching and learning in partnership with the parent community
  • demonstrated confidence in the use of technology and subject-specific equipment
  • demonstrated understanding of current pedagogy and differentiation that engages learners of all abilities
  • ability to teach another subject
  • a willingness to contribute positively as part of a professional learning community
  • applicants need to be willing and able to participate in and support the religious dimension of the College
