The Diocese of Lismore stretches along the coastal strip of New South Wales from Tweed Heads in the north to Laurieton in the south and west to the foothills of the Great Dividing Range. The Catholic Schools Office provides a range of services to support approximately 2,500 staff in 45 vibrant and dynamic school communities that serve more than 18,500 students.

Within your application, you will be asked to nominate the role in which you are interested to undertake and schools in the area you are interested to approach for work. Once your application has been processed by Human Resources by completing checks and verifications, you will be issued a casual contract in preparation to be considered for work in the Diocese of Lismore.

CASUAL EMPLOYMENT

Teachers and general employment

You will be provided with a casual contract, however, a casual contract is no promise of work, ongoing work, or otherwise. It allows you to contact the school/s you have nominated within your application to seek casual work.

 

All applicants are required to complete a "system application form" which includes: 

Uploading documentation:

  • 100 points of identification (as per list here) - certified copies (combined into one document)
  • degree/diploma/certificates, transcripts if applicable - certified copies (combined into one document)
  • resume and cover letter (no more than one page) addressing the criteria
  • provide your Working with Children Check details
  • nomination of referees


Criteria to be addressed in the application 

  • qualifications if applicable in the area of employment selected
  • a commitment to the requirements of the diocese Accreditation To Work Teach and Lead document
  • a willingness to contribute positively as part of a professional learning community.
  • applicants need to be willing and able to participate in and support the religious dimension of Diocesan Catholic Schools

Teachers 

  • provide your New South Wales Education Standards Authority (NESA) number or details of interstate registration.
  • qualifications and experience
  • Statements of service for classification purposes
  • able to work as a member of a committed team of professional teachers, dedicated to providing quality teaching and learning in partnership with the parent community
  • a commitment to the requirements of the diocese Accreditation To Work Teach and Lead document
